California Center for Law & the Deaf to Close pending Restructuring
Effective June 30, 2008, the California Center for Law & the Deaf (CalCLAD) sadly will cease office operations and legal services. This decision was not easily reached but in light of structural and legal issues, the Board feels for the continued success of CalCLAD, a major restructuring is necessary. CalCLAD's Board of Directors will oversee the restructuring of the organization, and is committed to reopening the agency as soon as possible so that CalCLAD can return to its historical role of providing high quality legal services to its client communities in California. The restructuring effort includes the establishment of secure financing sources for CalCLAD, expansion of legal services and additional leadership for the organization. CalCLAD welcomes and invites the involvement of the communities that it serves in the restructuring process.
